As you might know, I don't drink alcohol and haven't since 2016. I feel so healthy without it and once I started on a path of conscious living I found that alcohol was a toxin to me and that truly wasn't adding any benefits to my life. It was making anxiety so much worse and the costs just outweighed the benefits for me.

I feel grateful to have found healthier ways to cope with emotions such as meditation, exercise, spiritual practice, and essential oils.

Still, I can see how a quarantine environment could lead to others turning to alcohol to cope. In fact, you’re more susceptible to any type of addiction in a heightened state of emotion, which many are in.

I was getting sick of just drinking plain or sparkling water, so I got creative with making these healthy and tasty mocktails!

Right now is a time of strengthening our immune systems, reducing our sugar intake and lowering our stress levels (as much as possible).

These mocktails effectively double as supplements, because they include medicinal grade doTERRA essential oils and some include Calm Magnesium powder drink. I honestly swear by drinking Calm every day with the oils so that I can keep my stress at bay.

One day without it, and I notice the difference! That's because the soil our food comes from is nutrient deficient, and when our body is looking for nutrients it's missing (like magnesium), it creates a stress response, which can be experienced as anxiety.

Magnesium balances the gut and mood, promotes muscle recovery, restores electrolytes, improves sleep, improves digestion, reduces head tension, reduces anxious feelings, improves absorption of calcium and potassium, and alleviates restless legs.

High-quality citrus essential oils from doTERRA cleanse the liver, kidneys, colon, and pancreas. They support healthy immune function, aid digestion, support the body against seasonal threats, promote emotional balance, and break up mucus build up.

So sip on these super healthy mocktails while staying safe and healthy indoors, and enjoy them during your next Zoom get-together with friends!

Important Disclaimer: I can only recommend drinking doTERRA essential oils as they have been vetted for internal use based on their testing quality standards. Learn more about their testing standards here.

Lemonades

Lavender Lemonade: Fill a glass with low sugar lemonade (I like Trader Joe's brand), or if you prefer you can use 1-2 squirts of Mio Lemonade to 8 oz of water. Add just 1 drop of doTERRA Lavender essential oil and stir! Don't go overboard with the essential oil or it'll be too much. Serve with ice. Use this when you want to communicate more clearly and relax.

Basil Lemonade: Same as above, but add 1 drop of Basil essential oil. Use this when you want to balance your adrenals and restore your energy.

Spearmint Lemonade: Same as above, but add 1 drop of Spearmint essential oil. Use this when you want to feel more confident and clear in how you present yourself.

Magnesium Mocktails

Raspberry Ricky: 1 tsp Raspberry Lemon Calm + 1-2 drops of doTERRA Lime EO + 1 can of raspberry or lemon seltzer

Cherry Lime Cooler: 1 tsp Cherry Calm + 1-2 drops of doTERRA Lime EO + 1 can of cherry seltzer

Citrus Calm: 1 tsp Original Unflavored Calm + 1-2 drops of citrus oil like doTERRA Lemon, Wild Orange, Tangerine, or Green Mandarin + 1 can of citrus type of seltzer

Faux Moscow Mule

1 can of Goslings Diet Ginger Beer + 2 drops of Lime EO stirred

Arnold Palmer

Half peach tea (Trader Joes or Wegmans stores have a great variety of bottled tea) + 1 tsp Lemon Calm with water + 2 drops of doTERRA Lemon EO

Golden Mylk

Heat 8 oz of coconut mylk or any type of plant mylk you have, then add 1-2 drops each of doTERRA Turmeric EO and Cinnamon Bark EO (can substitute with Cassia EO!) and 1 tsp of vanilla extract. If you like it sweeter, add 1-2 drizzles of maple syrup.
