Mystic Mag Interview – Guiding Modern Leaders to Authentic Confidence and Fulfillment
I was recently interviewed for MysticMag, you can find a preview of the interview below and the full interview here!
Your journey as an embodiment coach is inspiring. What initially led you to explore this path, and how did your personal experiences shape your coaching philosophy?
In 2016, I reached a crossroads in my life when my father passed away unexpectedly. It was a pivotal moment that made me realize I wasn’t living a life I truly enjoyed, despite having everything society defined as success—a marketing job at a top tech company, a home in New York City, and a full social calendar. On the inside, though, I felt empty, confused, and burnt out. My dad’s passing was a wake-up call, reminding me that life is finite and that I could no longer ignore the disconnect between my inner truth and the life I was living.
I knew I needed to reconnect with myself—my true self—and start living a life led by my values and intuition. I needed to build a life that reflected my inner world, not driven by external validation. This realization led me to explore embodiment as a way to cultivate balance in all areas: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Through this work, I discovered tools to help me face fears, move through triggers, and trust myself as I navigated uncharted paths.
Having experienced the transformative power of somatic coaching, breathwork, and embodied movement, I became passionate about sharing these tools with others. These approaches were especially impactful for me as someone with PTSD, helping my authentic self emerge in ways that traditional methods couldn’t fully achieve. Creativity also became a cornerstone of my journey, enabling me to process emotions and reconnect with my inner voice, and it’s something I use in my coaching philosophy.
You emphasize cultivating deep self-awareness in modern leaders. What are some of the most common challenges you see in leaders today, and how does self-awareness address these?
One of the biggest challenges I see in leaders today is difficulty managing emotions and triggers, often stemming from unresolved personal experiences. Many leaders struggle with stress, self-doubt, and the pressure to meet external expectations, which can lead to burnout, miscommunication, and self-sabotage.
Self-awareness is a transformative antidote. It allows leaders to understand their emotional patterns, recognize their triggers, and respond instead of react in high-pressure situations. This foundation of self-awareness also fosters authentic communication and the ability to build trust and connection with their teams. Through embodiment, leaders can reconnect with their intuition, align with their values, and show up as grounded, effective decision-makers.
In your book, Wholeness Within, you delve into the idea of whole-person transformation. Could you share a key takeaway from your book that has resonated most with your readers?
One of the most resonant takeaways from Wholeness Within is the importance of self-trust and self-respect, especially when it comes to setting boundaries. I share candidly about my own struggles with people-pleasing and the tendency to give without first checking in with my own needs.
This pattern led me to over-give at work, and feel completely resentful in all my relationships. Readers have found the book’s practical guidance helpful in building awareness of their energy, learning to say “no” with confidence, and aligning their decisions with their authentic selves. These tools empower them to create lives and careers that truly reflect who they are at their core.
Your approach integrates embodiment techniques, mindfulness, and personal growth strategies. Can you describe a transformative success story where these methods created a significant impact for a client?
One client came to me during a particularly challenging career transition. They were navigating the uncertainty of renegotiating their role and compensation, feeling ungrounded and unsure of how to advocate for themselves. Through embodiment tools like breathwork and somatic awareness, they learned to regulate their nervous system and build confidence in their decisions.
By separating their sense of worth from their job title, they found greater peace and stability, even amidst the chaos and turbulence of standing up for themselves. They not only successfully negotiated their rate but also rediscovered joy in other areas of their life. This transformation underscored the power of embodiment to unlock clarity, self-trust, and empowerment.
You’ve been featured on platforms like Bustle and Thrive Global. What do you find most rewarding about sharing your expertise with a broader audience?
What I find most rewarding is the opportunity to reach people who might not have encountered these concepts otherwise. Sharing my story and expertise allows me to inspire others to take their first steps toward self-awareness, embodiment, and personal growth. It’s deeply fulfilling to know that my work can spark moments of insight or transformation in someone’s journey, even if I’ve never met them personally.
This is the work I support clients with in corporate workshops, my group program Flourish, and my 1:1 program.
